To help us provide the best possible care for your cat — and to keep visits safe, calm, and efficient for everyone — we ask that all clients review the following guidelines. As a small, local, cat-only practice, these policies allow us to focus our time and energy where it matters most: your cat!
- Rabies Vaccinations
Keeping everyone safe is a shared priority. For the safety of your cat, our staff, and our community, we require all patients to have a current rabies vaccination. This may be completed with us or documented from a previous veterinarian. - Deposits
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. To ensure availability and minimize last-minute cancellations, we require a deposit for exams and procedures to hold appointment times. Deposit amounts are set in advance, are non-negotiable, and vary depending on the type of appointment scheduled. - Cancellations & Rescheduling
We want to be fair to all patients needing care. For wellness exams, we require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellation policies for procedures or other appointment types may differ and will be clearly communicated at the time of scheduling. This allows us to offer openings to other cats who may need timely care. - Exam Documentation & Privacy
Accurate records help us provide better care. During appointments, we typically use secure text transcription to document exams accurately in the medical record. Clients may opt out of this if they prefer. All information is protected under our software’s privacy and security policies. - Prescriptions
Safety and accuracy come first. To ensure prescriptions are reviewed carefully and dispensed correctly, we do not electronically authorize prescriptions. We are happy to provide written prescriptions, which may be picked up in clinic or mailed to your home. Because our team is small, prescription requests (including refills) require at least one full business day of advance notice to allow adequate time for review, approval, and preparation. - Insurance & Payment Policies
We’re glad your cat has insurance! While we don’t work directly with pet insurance companies and do not offer CareCredit, we’re always happy to support you by providing invoices, SOAP notes, and medical records to help with reimbursement claims. We don’t recommend any specific insurance provider — our goal is simply to give you the documentation you need. - Carrier Requirement
Carriers keep cats safe and stress levels lower. For everyone’s safety, all cats must arrive and remain in secure carriers at all times while in the clinic. This helps prevent escapes, injuries, and unnecessary stress for both cats and humans.
We truly value the trust you place in us and appreciate your understanding of these policies, which allow us to focus on what matters most — providing compassionate, high-quality care for your cat.
Thank you,
ACC Staff
